DIY Trim Laced shorts

Hello All,

Today I have another great DIY from of course Pinterest! As I stated in the last blog I have seen tons of great ideas from the website and today's DIY is adding a lace trim to a pair of shorts.

I took an old pair of American Eagle jeans and I cut them into a pair of shorts

Now, what I used to add lace to the shorts were the following:

White thread, needle, straight pins, and white lace. I brought all the items at Walmart, but I'm sure that all of these items can also be purchased at your local craft store.

I don't have a picture for you for the next few steps, but it's all pretty simple. You turn your shorts inside out and cut the lace to the length you will use to trim the bottom of the shorts.

FYI: I don't own a sewing machine, so that is the reason why I have sewn the lace on by hand, but if you own a sewing machine by all means go ahead and use that instead of hand sewing!

I used the straight pins to hold the lace in place on the shorts, for one to give me an idea as to how it would look and also to keep the lace from moving. After hand sewing the lace on, turn the shorts from being inside out and check it out, You now have yourself a great pair of laced trimmed shorts!

So, until the next blog, stay amazing, stay fierce, and make your fashion mark!

Tie Dye Shorts

Have you heard of pinterest? If not then I suggest you go straight to their website after reading my blog of course and see what great things they have to offer! I am completely in love with pinterest they have the most amazing pictures and tutorials of DIY ( Do it yourself) projects, along with pictures of many other great categories such as women's apparel, hair & beauty, home decor, etc.

So, your probably asking what is pinterest? It's a website where it's members can create various different boards with different titles such as Fashion is, My style, Kids, etc. A lot of us spend countless time browsing the Internet searching and looking at various different websites finding great things all the time with pinterest you can share those things with others with just a click of a button.

Once you become a member of pinterest and the membership is FREE! You add the "pin it" button to your favorites setting on your computer and whatever website your browsing on the Internet and come across something cool, beautiful, or interesting you click on your pin it button and it will post to the board/ boards you created on pinterest and it's that simple!

I have to admit that I have a great addiction to this website, I have come across such great ideas, tons that I plan on trying and two of which that I have tried just this week. I came across a cool idea of how to tie dye a pair of jeans with bleach.

The weather is getting warmer and summertime is just around the corner and I have seen on pinterest so many women turning their old jeans into shorts. So, for the tie dye creation I took an old pair of American Eagle jeans, sorry I forgot to take a picture of the jeans before being cut, and before I tie dyed them, but the process is pretty simple.

        Tie dye denim jeans process

1. Take an old pair of jeans and cut them into shorts, or take an already made pair of shorts and do the following, below is the link to the pin I got the tie dye idea from!

Seems pretty cool right? Well I did a bit of a mistake with mine, I let them sit for too long and instead of white, they turned out yellow, but these are my results!

Not bad right? I like them! So, now I have another pair of shorts to add to my collection! Well now it's your turn to try it out, get a pair of old jeans and turn them into something amazing! Until the next blog, stay amazing, stay fierce, and make you fashion mark!
